The MileStone Lane Team is committed to safeguarding the health and safety of the children enrolled in our care, and protecting members of the Milestone Community. To help in preventing the spread, our team follows all Ohio Responsible Restart Mandatory Guidelines and Recommended Best Practices and those of the CDC and local Health Department.

Information for MileStone Lane Community

The MileStone Lane Team is committed to safeguarding the health and safety of the children enrolled, their families and the members of our team. We are grateful for your continued trust and confidence in MileStone Lane and our team; as we work together in doing all we can to protect the health and safety of our community.

We understand and share your concerns about COVID-19 and its effects on your families and the larger community. We want to provide you the information you need to make the best decisions for yourself and your family.

We have created this page to share the policies we have put into place in our efforts in keeping the children, your family and the members of our team safe.

Programs Daily Operations

In addition to our own rigorous health and safety policies, MileStone Lane is following the guidance of our state and local governing agencies; their Mandated New Rules and Recommended Best Practices as well as reinforcing CDC-recommended preventative measures, which are defined below.

How we’re keeping you and your family safe

The MileStone Team will follow every New Rule, Mandatory Guidelines and Recommended Best Practices put forth by our state and local governing agencies at all times and assure you that we regard the business of safeguarding the health and safety of every child placed in our care very seriously.

Some of our New Policies and Procedures Include, but are not limited to:

Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures
Our new routines for drop-off and pick-up are designed to ensure everyone at MileStone Lane remains healthy and safe. Only one family at a time will be permitted inside the foyer, where we will conduct a quick health screening to ensure your child does not have a fever above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or other flu-like symptoms. A designated team member will take your child to and from the classroom. For pick-up, a teacher will bring your child to the foyer. Please be mindful of keeping a six-foot distance from others during drop-off and pick-up.

Practicing Social Distancing
Please practice social distancing when picking up or dropping off. We will practice social distancing in the classroom and Administrative office throughout the day. Your children will remain in the classroom or on the playground with their teachers and classmates. For added safety, different classes will not interact with one another, and all special events and visitors will be postponed until further notice.

Frequent Handwashing
It is proven that handwashing is the most effective defense against the spread of germs. Our team members will implement an even more rigorous handwashing routine. These include, but are not limited to, washing their hands and the hands of children upon arrival and departure, before and after meals, when returning inside from outdoor activities, when visibly soiled, after toileting, and after contact with bodily fluids. Hand Sanitizer dispensers have been installed at every entrance and the entrances of all classrooms.

Keeping Our Environment Clean
Our team members will implement an even more rigorous cleaning routine, and all high-traffic surfaces and objects will be sanitized regularly throughout the day. These include, but are not limited to, all learning materials, toys and equipment, tables, chairs, counters, cabinet fronts, playground structures, light switches and door handles.

Food Prep Procedures
Our team members will continue to wear gloves while helping children with lunch and snack time. We will discontinue preparing on-site lunches and request that lunches be brought in from home.

Face Coverings
As per State Guidance and Recommended Best Practices; team members will wear a face covering at all times while in the center.

Positive COVID-19 Diagnosis
If an enrolled child or member of the MileStone Lane team is diagnosed with a positive Covid-19 test; we will notify families of the MileStone community immediately and comply with all directives, recommendations and guidelines of the Ohio Responsible Restart, local Health Department and CDC.

What Should I Do If My Child Becomes Sick or a Member of My Family has been Diagnosed with COVID-19?
